Gone Forever, Lost Forever

My friend is gone forever.

Dear Jesus,

Just yesterday morning I heard of the passing of my comrade at work.  As you know, I have worked with her for many years.

Just a few months ago she took your name in vain as we worked together.  She didn’t do this very often, that I am aware of.  But I confronted her.  I told her you are Someone very special to me.  I didn’t appreciate your name being used that way.  She said she had her own private beliefs.  But she thought about what came out of her mouth around me after that.  Not that she didn’t slip occasionally, as you and I both know.

How quickly our time on earth passes.  Now she is gone forever.  I fear she may be lost forever.

Gone Forever postscript

If you don’t know Jesus, you have no hope beyond this life.  And when those of us who are Christians tell others about Him, we don’t know what that will mean in their lives.  The Bible says, “We are to God the fragrance of Christ among those who are being saved and among those who are perishing.  To the one, we are the aroma of death leading to death, and to the other the aroma of life leading to life” (II Cor. 2:15,16).
